North Richmond Shoreline Academy

The goal of the North Richmond Shoreline Academy is to help restore and protect the North Richmond Shoreline for the benefit of local communities.

The North Richmond Shoreline Academy supports the restoration and protection of the shoreline by:

1) Providing outreach and education and facilitating wildlife experiences along the shoreline for local citizens of all ages


2) Completing a year long bird census with the help of local citizens


3) Beginning the restoration of native oysters with the help of local citizens


4) Completing a watershed assessment of the shoreline


5) Documenting the community’s vision for the future of the shoreline.

The North Richmond Shoreline Academy is a project of the Natural Heritage Institute, the Community Health Initiative, the Golden Gate Audubon Society, the Parchester Village Neighborhood Council, the Urban Creeks Council, and the West County Toxics Coalition.

The North Richmond Shoreline Academy is generously funded by the CALFED Watershed Program.
